Comsteel produces open die forged railway axles to International standards for all classes of rolling stock. Open die forged axles of widely varying and complex shapes can be produced in a range of sizes from light weight narrow gauge to broad gauge axles and large diameter axles for locomotive and heavy haul applications. Comsteel employs a number of heat treatment conditions and specialised surface finish treatments for high axle load and locomotive specifications.

Product quality is supported by in-house chemical, mechanical and non-destructive testing laboratories, which are fully endorsed by the National Association of Testing Authorities, Australia (NATA) to ISO/IEC 17025:1999, further assuring product integrity.

Product quality is supported by in-house chemical, mechanical and non-destructive testing laboratories, which are fully endorsed by the National Association of Testing Authorities, Australia (NATA) to ISO/IEC 17025:1999, further assuring product integrity.
Only products that conform to all contractual requirements and to stringent internal quality standards are provided to customer.  

With in house steelmaking and experienced technical personnel, Comsteel has developed many specialised materials for specific applications. High alloy axles and axle with superior mechanical properties can be produced to suit specific customer requirements.

Axles and shafts of many various sizes and shapes can be produced. Please supply drawings of your requirements for evaluation.
